Context Marketing Partners ↗

It started with a friend's LinkedIn profile
and a very honest AI.

January 2026. Lisa runs a LinkedIn analysis on a friend's profile using Claude. The output is unlike anything she's seen — specific, honest, immediately actionable. She runs another. And another. By February, she's run a dozen. The question stops being "is this useful?" and becomes "what is this, exactly, and who needs it most?" That question became Artifice & Intelligence — the creative lab of Context Marketing Partners.

Where the work gets shown.

The creative lab of Context Marketing Partners. Practitioner-first, no theory without receipts. What Lisa found, how she built it, what she learned — and what it means for how you work.

Trust But Verify: How I Use AI Without Letting It Run My Business

I had ChatGPT build me a business plan for FLUENT. It was beautiful, thorough, and completely wrong for where I am. Scope explosion dressed up in a trench coat. Here's what I do instead — and the mental model that keeps me from outsourcing my judgment to a chatbot.

Better Than
My Idol

What it actually takes to stop performing for someone else's applause
By Lisa Joy Ricci

Twenty years in healthcare marketing, sales intelligence, and org development. Every tool mastered, every room entered, every credential earned. And still — still — the persistent background noise of not quite enough. This is the book about what happened when she stopped trying to out-execute her idols and started building something that was entirely, unapologetically her own.

Identity Reinvention AI & Work Healthcare Industry Founder Journey Women & Ambition Building in Public

A draft. A beginning. The honest version.

"

I have spent most of my professional life being very good at things that weren't quite mine.

Not in the way that sounds tragic. I was genuinely skilled. I liked the work. Some of it I even loved. But there was always this quiet gap between what I was producing and what I was trying to say — like the frequency was right but the signal was slightly off.

The idols helped and didn't help. You know the ones. The person in the room who makes it look easy. The executive who commands attention without effort. The founder whose story sounds clean and purposeful in retrospect. I studied them. I modeled them. I got good at the parts of them I could replicate.

What I couldn't replicate was the part where they weren't trying to be someone else.

This book is about the year I stopped trying.

It's not a redemption arc. It's not a success story, at least not yet. It's the honest account of what happens when a woman with 20 years of expertise, a Master's in org development, a brain wired for systems, and an inexplicable relationship with astrology decides to build something from scratch — and uses AI as her co-founder, her red pen, and her occasional mirror.

There are real numbers in this book. Real conversations. Real failures I almost didn't include. The AI outputs that surprised me. The strategies that were embarrassingly obvious once I could see them. The moment I understood what I'd actually been doing all along.

I'm going to tell you something that took me too long to learn: being better than your idol isn't about surpassing them. It's about finally becoming someone they couldn't have built — because they didn't have your particular combination of damage, delight, and determination.

This is that story.

More than a founder story. A manual
for the productive refusal to stay small.

The Industry

20+ years in healthcare — what AI is doing to it, who gets left behind, and what she saw coming that nobody wanted to say out loud.

The Build

How a sole proprietorship gets built in real time — the EIN, the Stripe account, the Framer site, the failed plans, the ones that actually worked.

The AI

The actual conversations. The prompts that changed how she thinks. The outputs that were wrong and why. What AI can and can't do for creative work.

The Idols

The specific people she modeled, studied, tried to replicate — and the exact moment she understood that emulation was its own kind of ceiling.

Six months of building. Here's how it actually went.

Not the polished founder narrative. The actual sequence — the discovery, the chaos, the system that emerged from it, and where it's going.

The Experiment Begins

After 20+ years in healthcare marketing, sales intelligence, and org development, Lisa starts using AI tools not as a curiosity — but as a serious operating layer. The question wasn't "what can AI do." It was "what can I do better when I think alongside it?" She had a Master's in Organization Development. She'd been in rooms with smart people her whole career. She knew what good thinking looked like. This was different.

The Layoff. The Offer. The Yes.

The day Lisa and Nate Purpura both got laid off, Nate made an offer: no pay, all fun, co-founder status. Lisa said yes. That became Context Marketing Partners — focused on market intelligence, competitive analysis, and go-to-market strategy for healthcare and digital health companies. Nate is a VP Marketing veteran across eHealth, Bicycle Health, and ARC Health. They'd both been in the industry long enough to know exactly what was broken. Building their own thing was the only logical response to getting pushed out of someone else's.
